PERFECT PASSAGE OF PROSE… from a book I have read

The door opens and Dorothy Price walks in. I haven’t seen her since primary school when she was one of the flat chests, one of the unchosen, ignored by Harris, the sleazy teacher of Grade Seven.  Fat Arty looks up.  I look up. Dorothy Price has grown up in a well-rounded, curvy way and she has a new smell, or I am smelling for the first time. Something strange stirs inside me.

Boy on a Wire is a coming-of-age memoir set in 1960s Australia which  is a brutally sad yet hilarious insight into life in a boys’ boarding school.
