The Mornington Peninsula is a region close to Melbourne that has built an enviable reputation as a food and wine lovers’ paradise. Produce to platter: the food & wine lover’s guide to the Mornington Peninsula by mother and daughter publishing team Jonette George and Daniele Wilton is a wonderful tribute to the people of the area. George said that one of the main goals with her work is to achieve recognition, both within Australia and overseas, that we have some of the most amazing food and wine destinations in the world!

The book is filled with all the things that we love in life – food, wine, beautiful photos and fabulous quotes.  It breaks down the peninsula into four regions and takes the reader on a culinary journey past olive groves, organic fields and vineyards to markets, farm gates and restaurants. The locals are proud to proclaim that where they live and what they produce from the land are some of the best kept secrets in the world. Produce to Platter allows you in on these secrets and it seems that George and Wilton have done the hard yards to uncover these: no stone is unturned, no restaurant or vineyard unvisited.
